Assay Services

We melt down your precious metal and give you a quote on how much it’s worth. This is know as an assay.

Assay is the process of analyzing material to identify the precious metal content

First we use an industrial furnace to melt the metals down into a hot liquid form.
Then we pour the liquid solution into a ceramic bar mold which allows for the molten metals to form the shape of a bar when it cools.
The bar is taken out from the mold and any unwanted residue it brushed off.
A small hole is drilled into the bar of the top and bottom so It can be accurately scanned by our X-ray Fluorescence machine which tells the exact elemental composition of the bar.
Finally we record the composition, calculate the value based of the percentage of precious metals found, and mail you a check worth the value of your bar minus the assay fee which is $50.

Refining Services

We will refine your precious metals down to their pure elemental forms.

We use a wet chemical process to recycle scrap metal back to pure form.
Once the scrap job is settled it is placed in a refining lot and moves through our batch refining process.
The first step of the refining is to flake the refining lot in water to increase the surfaced area.
The metals are then dissolved in an aqua regia solution,
an acid solution containing the precious metal ions, from which we selectively precipitate each element of interest.
Further processing is then required to remove trace elements from the solution
